Highlight
Leaving an Impression: Podcast Hosts Website
Two rising podcast hosts discussing current issues and solutions related to mortgages in Canada. They needed a clean, straightforward website to showcase their recent episodes and encourage user interaction.
The goal was to create a user-friendly design that highlights their podcast content, while promoting their online presence and fostering growth within their target audience.
User Demographics: Canadian homeowners, mortgage seekers, and financial advisors form the target audience. Understanding their online habits, preferred content format, and accessibility preferences is key.
Pain Points:
Difficulty in navigating overly complicated websites.
Slow-loading podcast episodes and hard-to-find information on episode themes.
User Feedback:
7/10 users prefer a straightforward approach without over-analyzing the website. They want clear indicators, a brief introduction to the hosts, easy access to the latest episodes, subscription details, comment sections, and contact information.
Using the research results, prioritizing a clear homepage with an easy-to-use navigation bar creates streamlined navigation. Further analysis ensures that the podcast website aligns with industry trends while addressing user needs, ultimately enhancing both functionality and user engagement.
Homepage Design: How do competitors introduce their content?
Common Approach: Most competitors use hero sections with eye-catching banners or podcast images, often featuring the latest or most popular episodes.
Highlighted Content: Clear and concise taglines or episode titles are displayed to grab attention. Some might use a short video or audio clip to introduce the podcast.
Featured Hosts: Brief bios of the hosts to establish credibility.
Episode Listings: Are there standout ways episodes are presented?
List Format: Competitors often use a chronological list of episodes with thumbnails, short descriptions, and durations.
Visual Appeal: Episodes are presented in cards or grids, making them visually engaging and easy to scroll through.
Featured Episodes: Standout or popular episodes are pinned at the top or marked with badges.
